Academics
Vancouver Island University provided an excellent educational experience. I chose the Kinesiology program because of my passion for the human body and desire to help people. Below are some highlights of my educational accomplishments.
Injury Management
This course provided great practical application. We utilized theoretical preperation with hands-on field-based practice to recognize, care for, and prevent sports injuries. Content included tissue healing, predisposing factors for injuries, mechanisms of injury, anatomy involved in injuries, and fundamentals of treatment for a variety of conditions. This course successfully taught me many things, but most used was the tape jobs for various injuries. As you can see in the attached video.
This Scholarship was awarded to me in my final year of Kinesiology. I was extremely grateful for such an honour, and will continue to apply myself in future studies.

This scholarship was awarded due to my involvement with the Nanaimo White Rapids Swim Club. I spent over 10 years with the club, as a swimmer, coach, and volunteer. It was a happy ending to my swimming career with the club.
Woodlands secondary is where I spent the first two years of my high school education. I contributed to extra curricular events through the student council, and the committee recognized that and awarded me with this scholarship.
Nanaimo Minor Hockey presented me with this scholarship for my involvement as a player and official. I regularly volunteer my time at tournaments or events, as well as mentoring young officials. The association has gave me many life-lasting memories, and I am grateful for their contribution to my education.
